JOIN US AS WE ANNOUNCE OUR PLACE IN THE FAMILY OF THINGS.

(No clue? It’s a nod to a poem by Mary Oliver.)

05.01.2021
WHEN + WHAT TO EXPECT

10: GATHER
11: ♡ MOMENT
12: BRUNCH + FUN

We aren't really "wedding" people, so this won't be a typical wedding. For one thing, we scheduled this shindig on a Friday morning because we really want you to take the day off work, play hooky with us in the morning, and get a jump on your own weekend in the afternoon! So, here's the run of show:

Saturday, May 1 2021 AT 10AM
01: YOU - Show up sometime between 10am - 10:30am for mimosas and juice.

02: WE - Will announce our place in the family of things around 11am.

03: US - We'll immediately follow that with a brunch catered by Chef Todd of Hutchinson's Finest + some unintimidating & fun May Day activities!

WHAT TO WEAR + WHERE TO GO

WHERE: COOP'S
WEAR: COMFY

Where the heck is “Coop’s”??

Cooper Sanchez is an artist and a friend. He owns a compound of 3 homes with beautiful gardens and a meadow-soon-to-be-orchard in Clarkston, GA. Weather permitting, we’ll be hosting our event in the future orchard. If it rains, we’ll move everything inside one of the three  bungalows.

ADDRESS:
783 NORTHERN AVENUE
CLARKSTON, GA 30021
Directions >

Comfy? What’s That Mean?

Wear something that makes you happy; something that you can move, breathe, and play in. You’ll have access to creative activities, so maybe also wear something you don’t mind getting a bit of paint on.

WHAT TO BRING

YOUR
PRESENCE
NOT
PRESENTS

We are so lucky to already have everything we need. But, for those whose love language is gift-giving, we’ve established a Honeymoon + Renovation fund where you can donate to offset our costs for these two specific life expenses.

We’ll also be posting fun updates and photos in the lead-up to the big day, as well as from the honeymoon afterward. We hope you’ll drop by, leave a comment, and share in our adventures.

BUT WHAT ABOUT —?

EVERYTHING
ELSE

What is the significance of May 1?

To the Celts, May Day was the most important day of the year — thought to divide the year in half between light and dark. Fire ceremonies and, later, the festival of flowers, combined into one glorious celebration of rebirth and renewal known as Beltane. Beth also has a soft spot for Maypole dancing. May Day is also international workers day, a time to pause the workweek frenzy and hold space for humane working conditions and pay equality.

Exactly what kind of  “unintimidating and fun May Day activities” are you planning? I’m skurred….

Fret not. You don’t have to play. But if you’re a kid at heart like us, we invite you to make a flower crown, brush some paint onto canvas floor cloth we plan to use in our future studio, or frolic beneath the wind chimes. The fun activities generally boil down to sipping, noshing and being creative.

A POEM BY MARY OLIVER

WILD GEESE

You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting –
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
